Poker Hand Odds & Probabilities

First of all, The easiest way to figure odds is to use the rule of 4 and 2 you can memorize most of the %'s for preflop play (and you should if you are going to play poker for real money)

Second, after you've seen the flop, all you have to do is determine the number of outs (example: I have four to the nut spade flush, which leaves 9 spades in the deck, so I have 9 outs to a winning hand.) You then multiply the number of outs (9) by 4. 9x4=36. I have roughly a 36% chance of making my hand. Most of the time, it's just that easy.

The same rule holds true after the turn, except you multiply by 2 (which, in the example above, would reduce the chance of making my hand to about 18%).

Here is a chart of poker odds and probabilities. There are a number of scenarios and draws where your probabilities are the same regardless of the cards you're holding. This is because of the number of outs that you have. If you become aware of these patterns and memorize your percentages, it will allow you to spend your time focusing on other matters at hand such as opponents' betting habits this will greatly increase your your poker winnings. Knowing your probabilities is an important tool because it can not only help you to make a smart call based on the percentages, but it can also help you get away from hands you would otherwise have difficulty laying down. I hope you find this chart of probabilities useful when playing feel free to make a copy for quick reference: Pre-Flop Probabilities - Chances of Being Dealt...
